Our song ‘Space Control’ is out. This is the hardest we have ever worked on a song. Created throughout 2021/2022 I pretty much painstakingly recorded and mixed to get it exactly how we wanted it. I think I was up to 35 mixes by the time it was done.
This song is super important to me. It’s probably me at my most honest and real and in a way its very dark but cathartic to sing / perform. I feel like the lyric’s blend between darkness and beauty, a song about alienation and depression with a slight glimmer of hope. A song for those out there who are battling with themselves and I hope those people relate to it.
Honestly I waited years to release it because I wanted it to be just right. I wanted the right people to help me put it out, maybe some money to help promote it so that as many people as possible got to hear it, but that didn’t go to plan and I have had enough of waiting around and focusing on things that aren’t creative. So we are releasing it like always completely independent, self funded and DIY.
This song is long for 2024. At 6 minutes 15, it pretty much has 3 distinct parts, floating instrumental arpeggio sections, big chorus’ into a 90’s rock breakdown with a harmonised guitar solo paying homage to the likes of The Eagles, Radiohead, Foo Fighters and even a bit of Gang of Youths.
