How to use 9005/HB3 with 9006/HB4 bulbs and vice versa?
Specifications
Halogen 9005/Hb3 -65w -12v, can be used on headlight (high beam or low beam) and foglight.
Halogen 9006/Hb4 -55w - 12v, can be used on headlight (high beam or low beam) and foglight.
This video was made is to make known to those who had bought the wrong bulbs can modify it and using it without wastage. This mistake are very common to what we have experienced in the passed years. These bulbs are seen very similar and mistake easily occurs.
Usage of these 2 bulbs depends on your car manufacturers. Although 9005/Hb3 is higher in wattage than 9006/Hb4. It is only 10 watts different and will not significantly affect your vehicle headlight ( high beam or low beam) or foglight component. But if you use 9006/Hb4 from 9005/Hb3, it will affect the brightness you usually see because the increased in 10 watts make the light shines brighter. So if you always find that your road is not bright enough you can either switch to a better bulbs or do this modification to upgrade your vehicle. Vice versa, for those who are looking to lowering their wattage and not particular about the brightness, you can change to 9006/Hb4.
A gentle reminder on these bulbs manufactured nowadays. Most correct 9006/Hb4 bulbs does have a black top coating and the 9005/Hb3 does not. The coating on top of the 9006/Hb4 is to keep the light from blinding the oncoming traffic. So keep a look out if yours is manufactured with the coating on top or without. Some manufacturer do not follow ECE regulations or DOT approved
