The recent dry weather has led the lineside bordering heritage railways across the country to become fragile, and easily combustible. As such, many railways have taken the tough decision to sideline their steam services, operating diesels to reduce the risk of fires. The situation at the Swanage Railway echoes this, as it fell to Class 33 - D6515 "Lt Jenny Lewis RN" to haul the lines' flagship dining service, 'The Wessex Belle'.
Starting on Corfe's West Hill, the vantage point offers a good perspective on just how delicate the surrounding fields have become, as D6515 makes its way over Nordon Common passing Corfe Castle. Latterly, the 33 caught the last of the evening rays, as it passed Woodyhyde Campsite heading back to Swanage. Finally, a short jaunt to Swanage saw 31806 and 34028 "Eddystone" appearing idle on shed.
