Prosser Lake is a great place to get away from the crowds visiting the Truckee-Tahoe area during the summer. There are countless activities that can be done in and around the lake, such as hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, swimming, sunbathing, fishing, bird-watching, horse back riding, and on windy days, the lake is great for windsurfing. There are miles of single track trails & gravel roads around the lake, where most of the time you can enjoy them without seeing any people, while being surrounded by wildlife such as deer and multitudes of different kinds of birds.
In early to mid summer on the west side of the lake, once in a while acres of blooming purple Lupine flowers spring up up.
Prosser Lake is also one of the best spots in the area to see fabulous sunsets. One of the best locations is at the boat ramp at the end of the paved section of Prosser Dam Road.
