Right outside of Kyoto, Japan, is Nara, a picturesque city that’s home to some of the cutest and most polite animals in the world— the wild deer of Nara Deer Park! These deer are known to bow to visitors in exchange for pets and treats, and they roam happily and freely across the city. We spent an afternoon feeding and playing with the deer before cozying up inside for some Japanese ramen, pork gyoza, and red bean mochi.
