The 3rd annual Children’s Business Fair took place on Friday, August 7th on The Green in Wellsboro.
The fair’s director, Rachel Smith, started it in 2018 upon discovering a similar program at a school in Texas that promoted entrepreneurial education. Smith and her daughter submitted an application to host their own program and were accepted.
Over the course of the summer, local students, with some supervision from their parents and Smith, have created their own “businesses” – showcasing a variety of homemade products, services, activities or games that they presented on The Green. To ensure the children's safety, booths were set up with adequate spacing across the park and customers and families alike were asked to wear masks.
