Norfolk Southern Trains Crossing High Over Main Street On 1911 Bridge In An HO Scale Type Railroad Town! This town looks like a model railroad town! 2 trains zip on through with a train station and caboose below them and really awesome looking old buildings. These trains are in Sadieville, Kentucky on the NS Rat Hole Line north of Lexington. It is called the Rat Hole Line because it use to have numerous tunnels but most were daylighted in the 50s. This town has a small park right in the middle of town and is perfect for rail fans. It has picnic tables under a roof, electric plugins and a restored Southern Railroad caboose. There is also a school house that was for African Americans during segregation and it is restored into a museum. See the pictures of it in the video and Google it.
This video also includes the Castle & Key Distillery near Frankfort, Kentucky. I went there to see the abandoned railroad spurs and barrel tracks that are there. Two of the barrel tracks went over the road and there are a few old barrels sitting on them. The old train station is still there and has been restored as you can see in the video. I bought one of the coolest shirts there that I have ever seen. It is silky and is a Peter Millar which is supposed to mean something if you are into fashion. We didn't get to see the whole place because they give tours but the tours are booked through September.
I went to Sadieville twice. The first time I came there on July 14 and only saw one train which wasn't enough for a video. I came with a friend who is not a Railfan. I came back on July 20, 2020 with my Railfan friend Scott, 1960gambit. We got a train so I was able to finish my video and then we went to Wilmore and High Bridge. The best frequency for your scanner here is 452.9375 for the EOT device. Road channel is 160.950 but I never heard the trains call out the signals. The EOT started chirping at least 5 minutes before the train appeared.
