As per the latest update coming in from the political corridors, it is being reported that the central government is planning to include Bhagavad Gita in NCERT textbooks. The government is making up its mind to introduce Bhagavad Gita references in class 6th and 7th and Shlokas in 11th and 12th Sanskrit books. BJP clarified the move by saying that the government wants students to learn Indian culture, however, Congress and the other opposition parties slammed the decision and said that BJP is trying to saffronize the education system. Congress leaders also said that if BJP is introducing Bhagavad Gita in the syllabus, it should also consider other religious books as well.
