Association Rwandaise des Travailleurs Chrétiens Féminins (ARTCF) is a Local non-governmental organization that empowers vulnerable women by raising their awareness and increasing their ability to graduate from socio-economic problems and be financially and socially independent. ARTCF is committed to be creative and constructively engage to pursuit of making greatest possible impact on eradicating all causes of women’s poverty engaged in action. ARTCF works together with all people who are concerned for sustainable development regardless of any beliefs.
ARTCF works to ensure respect of gender equality and consider that all its orientations have fair and equal opportunities without regards on religious and political affiliations. ARTCF recognizes and appreciates the inherent value of each human being and the significance of diversity. In all actions and behavior, ARTCF acknowledges that it is a part of a wider alliance against poverty and injustice. ARTCF is committed to be accountable at all levels for the effectiveness in all its actions.
Since the human, social and economic catastrophe of the 1994 genocide against Tutsi, Rwanda has made remarkable progress towards recovery, characterized by improvements to the country’s infrastructure, a business-friendly environment, the absence of widespread or systematic corruption, and strong economic growth.
In recognition of these advances ARTCF in partnership with CARE International in Rwanda have implemented Literacy for Empowerment project in Nyaruguru, Nyamagabe, Huye, Gisagara, Nyanza, Ruhango, Kamonyi and Muhanga Districts of the Southern Province of Rwanda, as part of the CARE Norway supported Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Project (GEWEP II) in Rwanda with the financial support of the Grieg Foundation.
