When the UN cancelled its 2020 climate summit because of the coronavirus pandemic, youth climate activists from 142 countries around the world decided to hold one anyway. A goal of the virtual conference was to elevate the voices of those most affected by climate change - people from the Global South made up more than 70% of the 330 youth delegates.
The youth-led climate activism collective 'Mock Cop 26' have now put together a climate treaty, which they're calling on world leaders to adopt. Top of the list is getting governments around the world to commit to including young people in decision-making. Watch our video with some of the activists who took part in #MockCOP26 and tell us what you think about their climate treaty in the comments.
