In this video, I’ll be giving you an overview of the ‘Indonesia and the Amsterdam School’ (Indonesië en de Amsterdamse School) exhibition currently on display at Museum Het Schip until the 27 Aug 2023. For anyone who is interested in the Amsterdam School architectural style – this exhibition is a must!

Museum Het Schip is a small to medium sized museum in Amsterdam. There is also a tour available with your ticket (which I would highly recommend) and you get to see the old post office, a model slum house and a 1920's styled flat. If you’re looking for something to do in Amsterdam that’s off the beaten track, then this is a good option!

My first solo exhibition titled 'The Spaarndammerbuurt Trio' will be on display from 6 May to 26 Jun 2023 in the Museum Het Schip lunchroom.

ABOUT ME
Hello there! My name is Daniella Perera and I’m an artist and vlogger based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I grew up in Hong Kong and the UK, and I’m of mixed heritage including Chinese, Sri-Lankan, Dutch and Portuguese.

Near the end of 2020, I moved from Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam with my husband. I have since fallen in love with this city, and I make YouTube videos (every other weekend) about things to do in Amsterdam and tips to settle in faster. The idea behind 'Pocket Lighthouse' was to shine a light on the above topics, and for this information to be accessible on the go.

One of my long-term goals is to use my creativity (whether that be through art or video) to regularly support organisations helping strays and shelter dogs. Needless to say I absolutely adore dogs.
