The retro bike market is clearly one of the big growth areas of motorcycling at the moment. We know that in a month we’ll be introduced to the Kawasaki Z900RS. We also know that it draws on the retro style of the classic Z1. And now we know some details of its specifications as well.
It turns out that there are more than just cosmetics separating the Z900RS from the normal Z900. It’s also got different proportions, a different engine spec and a different riding position. In short, while most of the main components are shared with the Z900, the Kawasaki Z900RS will be very distinct machine.
Kawasaki will launch a retro Z900RS in the coming weeks as it takes the fight to rivals like the Yamaha XSR900 and Triumph Thruxton, while the expected supercharged variants will follow in 2018.
