Measuring chlorine value in drinking water 💧 using Hach pocket COLORIMETER.
Chlorination of water is essential to kill bacteria and other harmful germs. after few hours chlorine gets evaporates from water 💧 .
in Hach pocket COLORIMETER , DPD powder comes along . this DPD POWDER is basically chorine reagent which will change colour of the water which indicates presence of chlorine in the water 💧 and colour saturation will depends on the amount of chlorine value in the water.
Unit to measure chlorine value is PPM . full form is Parts Per Million and another practical understandable unit is mg/L (miligram per litre)
that's means 1.3 mg/L means in 1 litre water 💧 1.3 grams of chlorine is present. in terms of ppm , it can be said as in 1 million particles 1.3 parts of chlorine is present.
Hope you got my point. 🤠
