After years of anticipation, BMW has finally unveiled the long-awaited M2 Coupe, which will now serve as the entry-level model in BMW’s storied M performance range.

Slotting below the M4 to become the smallest M-badged car, it’s nonetheless powered by a 365bhp 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine, enough to crack the 0-62mph sprint in just 4.3 seconds.

With the car harking back to the days of the 1M Coupe and the original E30 M3, two of the marque’s greatest cars of all time, BMW has now released an official launch trailer for the new M2, which sees it go head-to-head against its predecessors on the track.
