Daybreak morning hours in early December cast a moody light on Ghent but don't take away any of the beauty and grace of the medieval old town.
Favorite sights:
- Tour of Gravensteen (The Castle of the Counts)
- The Bridge between Graslei & St. Michael's church
- St. Bavo's Cathedral
- Canals, canals, and more canals
This was the second stop on our "Chasing Christmas" tour of Christmas markets, and while the Ghent Christmas market wouldn't open for another few days (one of the later opening markets in the area), we didn't want to pass up the chance to spend a few hours there before heading on to Brussels.
Logistically, it was an easy train stop between Bruges and Brussels. Left our bags at a locker at the train station. Super convenient.
