Wallis' Jeremiah Azo helped Great Britain's men take gold in the 4x100m relay final, but the women's defeat enabled Germany to top the medal table at the European Championships in Munich.
The men took advantage of a fatal mistake by Germany to win the championship in a record time of 37.67 seconds, ahead of France to claim the title for the fourth time in a row.
France had set the previous record of 37.79 at the 1990 championships in Split in then-Yugoslavia to set what was a world time record. Azo from Cardiff was quick to break out of the blocks in the opening leg and clear changes enabled Zharnel Hughes and Jona Efoloko to gain momentum continuing before Nathaniel Mitchell Blake finished solidly
