"When my grandfather died this world disappeared for ever. We left Aracataca. I went to live with my parents for the first time in my life. It was a completely different reality, a new culture. My grandfather is the one who encouraged me the most to express myself. It is what I remember of him. And also the vision of a country, the vision he had of his country during the civil wars, and more specially at the time of General Uribe Uribe. It’s difficult to forget such a grandfather."
