Life-changing ‘Meeting Centres’ to help people living with dementia and their families have opened in the North East.
The centres are a first for the region, run by Age UK North Tyneside in Howdon and Benton.
Staffed by dementia experts, they offer activities to help stimulate dementia sufferers, as well as help and advice.
There are around 3,000 people over 65 living with the condition in North Tyneside, and staff hope that the centres will be the first of many to offer this vital support.
