In this episode, Noel and friends put the Chilli "Hot Knife 2" to the test at Waco Surf and North Florida.
Noel describes the Hot Knife 2 as a Small Wave Performance board, thanks to its lower overall rocker and wider nose and tail compared to typical high-performance shortboards. He explains that this board is perfect for front-footed surfers who rely on their front foot to generate speed down the line and maintain exceptional hold during carves and cutbacks—without the fear of sliding out. The lower entry rocker and bottom contours contribute to its speed, making it effortless to ride with good flow.
Noel emphasizes that the Hot Knife 2 is ideal for year-round shredding in Southern California waves and offers a blast in wave pools as well.
Asa shares his experience of connecting with the Hot Knife 2 from the very first wave, noting that it felt incredibly easy to surf top to bottom with great flow.
Eric Petersen also put the Hot Knife 2 through its paces in the mushy 1'-3' waves of North Florida, and he was thoroughly impressed. He highlighted its down-the-line speed and its ability to maintain momentum through cutbacks.
