About 332 farmers have killed themselves in Maharashtra since January this year. Reports suggest two to three farmers are committing suicide every day in the state. But the state government contests the figures, saying the number of suicides is actually coming down. However, irrespective of the denials by the government, nothing changes on the ground as desperate farmers are driven to the edge every day.
