Description :India celebrates its 78th Independence Day this year – marking the completion of 77 years of the hard-fought freedom from two centuries of British colonial rule.
In the list of national days that we observe every year, this day holds tremendous ground as it serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters who fought valiantly for our freedom and ushered in the dawn of a new beginning on 15th August, 1947.

Since then, each subsequent year has seen the nation pay tribute to the freedom fighters, reflect on its journey and achievements and at the same time, outline future goals.

This year, the theme for Independence Day celebrations is “Viksit Bharat,” which translates to “Developed India,” and which aligns with the Modi government’s vision to transform the nation into a developed country by 2047, coinciding with the centenary of independence.

The vision encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability and good governance.

And the prerequisite for realising this vision is atma nirbharta or self-reliance across different sectors that will define future growth and development.

In this special show we have discussed the goal of strengthening the country’s security apparatus, with a focus on achieving self-reliance in defence manufacturing progress.
