In this episode of DJs BrewTube I review DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter. HDC Brau Penn Quarter Porteris a Robust Porter that clocks in at, 5.5% ABV. This beer is described by Highland Brewing Company.as follows:

"Penn Quarter Porter was our first in a line of draft and 22oz bomber limited-release beers, and it's a robust porter! Now available in Cans! In the way that The Public™ is on the line between a pale ale and an IPA, this is on the line between a porter and a stout - with chocolate notes and a dry, roasted finish.."

This description sounds quote pleasant. Lets see if DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter lives up to the description. My written review follows:

DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter WRITTEN REVIEW:

A- DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter pours an onyx black color with ruby flashes when held to the light. A dark tan 1.5 - 2 finger head of partially sudsy bubbles crown the beer. Nice glass lacing but no alcohol legs were observed.

S- Coffee, chocolate, caramel and toffee. As the beer warms the aroma builds and chocolate moves to the fore front. No alcohol is detectable in the nose.

T- Follows the nose pretty well. Coffee, chocolate, caramel, oak, vanilla but not as much bourbon on the nose as I was expecting at first. As the beer warms the coffee and roasted flavor builds and moves to the fore front. Also, there is no alcohol taste present.

M- Medium mouthfeel that is slightly coating. Smooth, very low carbonation that is very easy to drink. No alcohol burn at all. Heck, at 5.5% ABV there should not be any.

O- DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter is very nice yet a bit restrained by todays standards flavored porter with just the right amount of coffee making for excellent drinkability. This is also a quite sessionable beer at 5.5% ABV. Overall, this is a tasty beer that while nothing mind blowing is still worth trying.
