This Short is from an iRacing Falken Tyre Sports Car Challenge race at the Hungaroring. I am racing a BMW M4 GT4 in the slower class and had been behind the Porsche for several laps. A Ligier JS P320 LMP3 from the faster class is approaching on the straightaway and I see an opportunity to follow the LMP3 through turn one and possibly make the pass on the Porsche. I remain patient and allow the LMP3 to get to the apex and then I slot in behind the LMP3 and I am able to make the pass on the Porsche before turn 2. I used the faster class LMP3 to get by the other GT4 race car. Often in multi-class racing the faster class can negatively impact your race. In this situation I was able to use the faster class to gain an advantage. When racing in multi-class also look for opportunities like this.

The 2024 iRacing Falken Sports Car Challenge multi class racing series featuring GT4 and LMP3 classes. The GT4 class includes the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, BMW M4 GT4, Aston Martin Vantage GT4, McLaren 570S GT4, and Mercedes-AMG GT4. The LMP3 class is just the Ligier JS P320 LMP3 which features a Nissan V8 motor.
