In Part 21 (S3 E06)…
Archie’s stab wound is getting infected so Kevin takes him to the creepy Dr Curdle to have it treated. Archie tells Kevin that he can never go back to Riverdale, as much for Veronica’s protection than anything. But first he needs to go to the Shadow Lake mines to see if he can find the gang that helped frame him. Veronica meantime finds evidence that Sheriff Minetta set Archie up for the murder of Cassidy Bullock, that might help free him. But things don’t go so well for Joaquin, who is mysteriously killed after being branded with the same mark that Warden Norton put on Archie.
