TABR23, 15th Place, Abby Moore with less than 100 miles to go in Ashland, VA. Unofficial final time of 29d20h53m.
From my TABR FB page post of 3 Jul 2023 @ 11:21 PM:
Almost felt guilty talking to Abby Moore at the Sheetz on US1 as she was multitasking. Had a nice conversation (off camera) while she ate her salad. Food has been an issue as you will hear. I thought she was eating very healthy... at a gas station! Salad, cheese, fruit, yogurt, an apple, and what I gave her? Well done! KY was her favorite state - we don't hear that often! A dog bite in Missouri made that state not on her list of favorite places! And why is she doing TABR? She did ACA's Southern Tier solo, but needed to push and challenge herself. She knew that riding with a group of people on a mission would help her do that. I also asked her if there was any time she didn't feel safe as a woman on the road. I was pleased to hear her say not at all. She says she can't multitask. I corrected her (gently) that anyone that can be in 16th place in TABR23 CAN multitask!!! [When I meet her in Ashland, she held 16th place, but she passed MS during the night and took 15th overall] As with many racers at this stage, she just wants it to be over. She started in Lexington (with The Raf), some 175 miles ago. Another 100 miles and she will reach her goal - Y'town! What an incredible woman. AM you rock!!!! Be safe!
