(8 Jul 2020) Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is in Washington, D.C., for his first meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House.
It's the newly elected president's first trip abroad and the goal is to celebrate the new trade deal between the countries, the United States Mexico Canada Trade Agreement, or USMCA.
President López Obrador is staying at the Mexican ambassador's home in Washington D.C. and he traveled to the executive mansion in a large motorcade consisting of black SUVs, a presidential limousine, and police on motorcycles.
Across town on Pennsylvania Avenue a crowd of López Obrador supporters gathered outside the Mexican Embassy. Some were wearing masks and holding up sign with the word "ALMO", which is how many people refer to López Obrador.
