This video shows how I made the drive spur for my drill powered lathe. It is not a build video of the lathe itself, but you can find a link to that video by Patrick Sullivan below. Although not identical, I used his video as primary inspiration and guide to building my drill powered lathe and added a few tweaks here and there that I think enhance the design. It's a great video and a great design. However, even after making the drive spur the way he suggested in his video, as well as a few other attempts to replicate designs in other videos, and after they didn't really work well at all, I came up with this method. It's so much easier and more effective, or at least I thought it was. I wish I had thought of it earlier before trying all the other drive spurs. After searching the internet and YouTube I found that there weren't many or any videos for that matter specifically about making the drive spur. So once I nailed down this final concept that worked better than anything I'd tried, I had to pass it along.

Although almost any drill will work just fine, I thought that a drill with a speed locking trigger and adjustable speed dial on the trigger added more versatility to the lathe. The link to the drill I used is here:
