We are in the Imam Mosque (formerly the Shah) in Isfahan, Iran. It was built by Abdul Qasim in 1629 under the order of Shah Abbas I of Persia.
Views of the gate of the main prayer hall which consists of three rooms and the minarets at the entrance that reach 48 meters in height. Views of the mosque as the lens moves on its facade. Then, we take views from the dome of the main prayer hall. It reaches 53 meters in height and because it was built as a double-shelled dome, there is a 14 meters spanning between the exterior and the interior octagonal dome chamber.
We watch the arches and the lens goes to the elliptical corridor of Abdul Qasim by arranging the compatibility of the mosque with the Mihrab (a semicircular niche in the wall of a mosque that indicates the qibla, that is, the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca).
The lens wanders around the main entrance of the mosque with its imposing 48-meter-high minarets and the honeycomb vaulting with the ornamented muqarnas on the gate’s roof.
The film closes with views of the Mosque. The Imam Mosque is located in the second largest square in the world after Beijing's Tiananmen Square, Naqsh-e Jahan Square or Imam Square (formerly Shah) which was built between 1598 and 1629, with an adornment of many flowers and an oblong fountain in the middle. The mosque has utilised the artistic tradition of "Haft Rang" (seven-colour) style of tile mosaic.
