In this video I went surfcasting on LI's northshore on a cool October night in search of some stripers and blue fish. This year the fall run was later then years past but its full swing now. I was using a SP minnow all night and managed to land a couple striped bass, my first one being my new personal best from the surf! He came in at 40 inches long and weighing around 25-30lbs according to In-Fishermen Striped Bass Length to Weight Conversion Chart. I also caught a smaller striper about 26-27 inches long that put up a nice fight in the currents. I had 3 more fish hook up but shook off right away. No blue fish caught on this outing but thats ok with me, ill take bass over blues any day. Overall it was a great outing and hope to catch some more now that fall is here!
