Last day of our fishing trip to Lochcarron and Appplecross.
We have been lucky with the weather over the last few days and today’s forecast again looks decent.
We fell in love with Applecross hills with its sheer beauty with whole area dotted with hundreds of lochs.
A haven for trout fishers who are willing to stretch their legs. However, there are loads of roadside lochs as well if you’re not that keen on walking.
We decided to mix it up a bit fishing both the lochs that required bit of a hike and some roadside lochs.
First loch we chose was around half an hour walk away. There was a nice ripple on the water as we arrived and the prospect were looking good. We split up in twos to fish different areas of the loch.
There was a fish to be caught straight away and then all went quiet. It wasn’t long before one member started hooking fish in a particular area of a loch. There were loads to be caught in that area along the lillies.
However average size of fish proved to be small in this loch. The numbers of fish we caught and the excellent scenery more than made up for the lack of bigger fish.
Delighted with the morning’s proceedings we arrived back in the car after a couple of hours and drove further up in the hills to fish few other lochs only a short walk away from the road.
As we were all hungry after our morning adventure it was time for lunch.
The weather in the afternoon had warmed up a lot and fishing became difficult and it wasn’t until towards the late evening before we had some action again.
