I recently joined a discussion with some other docs on the ACA Forum (you should join us!), and we were discussing a meta-analysis study on the topic of, "What is the best exercise for low back pain?". Unsurprisingly, the study was "inconclusive", "more research needed" -- as so many studies like this are.
Basically, the study authors couldn't find one exercise (or exercise program) that consistently helped reduce low back pain.
If you're a rehab professional, and you've found that a particular exercise helps one patient with back pain, but DOESN'T help the next patient with back pain -- there's a reason that happens.
In this clip I explain why there's no one "magic" exercise program that works for back pain, and outline my OWN approach to treating my low back pain patients with exercise.
