Shivneri is the birthplace place of Founder of Maratha Empire – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is located at Northern side of Pune district in Junnar city. Its height is about 3500 m. There are mainly two routes to reach to the top of fort one is from Main gate having about 300 stairs and another is Chain gate where trekking is done by holding chain. There is no rope-way to Shivneri. Shivneri is very easy fort as for climbing even children can trek easily and safely.
