There are some reasons you might want to buy this Jeep. And plenty why you might not.
The new-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with two different body styles, as a shorter five-seater SUV, or a longer seven seater SUV. In this review I'm focusing on the five-seater, which is the less logical of the two if you're looking at it from a practicality and pricing perspective.
It's also illogical that the standard engine is a decades-old 3.6-litre V6 petrol, while the better diesel and V8 petrol engines have been axed. Sure, there's a plug-in hybrid 4Xe model now, too, but it's crazy expensive.
So, does it make sense in any way? I mean, if you're spending $100K on a 4x4 SUV, there are heaps of better options for less money, such as the Ford Everest and even the Land Rover Defender.
Watch this review and you'll see why I reckon the new Grand Cherokee is the least convincing example of the breed to date.
