Last won by Newington in 1978. For the 3rd time in 117 history Newington has won seniors athletics. Down by 25 points with the 400m, 100m and 4x100m to go. Newington managed to win both 400m, one out of the 2 1500m and 17's 4x100m. It came down to last race, points were tied. And Newington won the race to claim the 2012 GPS Athletics championship.
