Kunal Chawla delivers a talk titled ‘School Textbooks are Boring - How They can be Redesigned’. A teacher with a passion for innovation, he talks about the uneasy relationship of books with teachers and students. He highlights the need for redesigning textbooks, curriculum, pedagogy and assessment to create interest among the students for learning. Kunal Chawla is an educator who has inspired the students and evoked the spirit of curiosity in them. He has made online courses with Google, Udacity and MIT and has 2 million learners worldwide. He started the ‘Chalees Minute School’ - an online space where middle school students can assimilate scientific concepts in 40 minutes or less. Kunal has also helped in building Google’s online education platform called Gooru. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas and Masters in Education Technology from Stanford University.
