Today the State Department hosts the 17th annual U.S. Sub-Saharan African Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum, commonly known as AGOA. The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) legislation mandates the annual AGOA Forum to foster close economic ties between the United States and its partners in Sub-Saharan Africa. This forum brings together African and American government relations and possibilities for future engagements. This year’s AGOA theme is “Forging New Strategies for U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment”.
