Babri Masjid demolition judgement: A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court today acquitted all accused as it pronounced its much-awaited judgment in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case. Among the accused were BJP leaders Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Kalyan Singh and Vinay Katyar. P.V. Narasimha Rao has come back to haunt the Congress. In his soon-to-be released autobiography Beyond the Lines, veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar is believed to have made some revelations about the former Prime Minister. They relate to Rao's alleged role in facilitating the demolition of Babri Masjid , something which the Congress has been dreading.
The biography inter alia says: "He (Rao) sat at puja when the kar sevaks began pulling down the mosque and rose only when the last stone had been removed Madhu Limaye (late socialist leader) later told me that during the puja, Rao's aide whispered in his ears that the masjid had been demolished. Within seconds, the puja was over." It is part of the chapter on Narasimha Rao's government in the book. Watch the video for more details.
