SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police arrested a man after a five-hour stand-off in the West Central neighborhood of Spokane on Tuesday, March 7.
Police say it started with a call from a woman saying 32-year-old Ryan Shaules was making "threats to kill" Monday afternoon.
According to SPD, Shaules was located around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday near N. Summit Blvd. and W. Broadway Ave.
Police say Shaules ran into a nearby apartment complex and a stand-off began for approximately 5 hours.
SPD says during that time, Shaules was barricaded in an apartment with another man and made explicit threats to kill law enforcement.
Around 9:00 a.m., SPD used a chemical agent to assist in arresting Shaules and 23-year-old Tikere Adams.
Shaules was arrested for two counts of felony harassment, 3rd-degree malicious mischief, and unlawful possession of a firearm due to having three prior felony convictions.
Adams was also arrested for resisting arrest, obstruction, and an out-of-county warrant.
