Fifteen people have now been arrested, £150,000 in cash has been seized, and 25 stolen vehicles found during a series of warrants across #Essex and #London.
Around 450 officers from Essex Police, the Metropolitan Police, and British Transport Police carried out more than 20 warrants were carried out as part of a joint investigation into the theft of vehicles.
In total, around 90 vehicles – worth a total of almost £5 million – were taken between November 2018 and February 2020.
Vehicle theft causes serious harm to the victims both in terms of the financial loss of the vehicle itself and the impact it has on their life.
These warrants are the culmination of strong and effective partnership work between Essex Police, the Met, and BTP.
