People across the world and Middle East are in shock today following the sudden collapse of a large crane at Mecca’s Grand Mosque that killed dozens and injured scores.
A large, mobile crane fell on Mecca’s Grand Mosque on Saturday night. Local authorities told the Saudi Gazette that the crane fell around 5 p.m. on Friday evening.
Saudi Officials said heavy winds and rains caused the collapse that have so far left 107 dead and 238 injured. It was not immediately clear who owns the crane, but according to the Saudi Gazette, it is regarded as one of the largest in the Middle East.
