I was asked by Modern Pinoy Cooking if I would collaborate in a video with him! I excitedly said yes and when I found out what we were making, I jumped with joy because it was a dessert recipe! It wasn't just any old sweet, it was a Filipino specialty called Yema. These candies really caught me by surprise because they only took 3 ingredients to make which went so well with my channel of quick & Easy recipes! They're incredibly delicious, I found myself popping one in my mouth every time I walked by the kitchen. I hope you guys try these out because they're also a pleasant change from the ordinary cake pops made using frosting and crumbled up prepared box cake. You'll surely be be glad that you did.
Enjoy❤

Ingredients:
1 14 oz Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Egg Yolk
2 Tbs Butter
1/4 cup chopped Nuts (optional)
Caramel:
1&1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Directions: To make this Yema, it's so simple! Mix together the melted butter, condensed milk and egg yolk in a bowl until fully combined. Pour the mixture into a saute pan and stir it around over a medium heat for about 5-8 minutes. Once the mixture is thickened, pour it into a bowl and allow it to cool. Once it's cool to the touch, Roll spoonfuls into balls and place them onto a parchment wax paper. Next either poke sticks into them or keep them as is and prepare the caramel or melted chocolate to dip them in.
To make the caramel syrup, simply just pour the sugar into a small pot along with the water and without mixing the mixture, bring it up to a boil. allow it to simmer for 8-10 minutes until thick. Once the mixture is a light golden brown color it is ready to dip the yema lollipops into. Place them onto a silicon lined baking sheet to cool or press the sticks into a piece of Styrofoam.
If your'e dipping them into melted chocolate, pour about 1 cup of white chocolate chips into a bowl and microwave for a few seconds being sure to stir them in between. Do not over heat the white chocolate. Dip the yema balls into the chocolate and decorate them with sprinkles if you choose. allow them to set for 5 minutes and harden. Store these up to 1 week in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
