Takeoffs are often the most exciting part of the flight --- that is especially true when you are riding in the nose of a B-29 bomber. Wearing a headset, you hear the pilot and co-pilot running checklists and verbalizing procedures -- full power, landing gear up, etc.—and the world falls away. The plexiglass floor of the position gives you a bird's-eye view of the terrain beneath you.
