An experiment using tile and recycled glass for building a fish tank with a sump below. I think this worked out well, especially for a sump-style tank. Just be sure that any exposed clay, (No glazing), is smoothed on with silicone so as not to leach up like a sponge and dissipate into the air. The tile is not as brittle as glass (is good on the edges), but will crack easily if you drop an item on it. I plan on building another all-glass tank and then building a sump tank with tile again.
