Prime Minister Scott Morrison won’t rule out calling an early election this year.
While he recently told his party room he was full-termer and won’t go to the polls until 2022, some of Mr Morrison’s MPs are privately preparing to hit hustings this year.
Despite a large break in the parliaments sitting calendar between August and September when an election could occur, when asked about a 2021 election on live radio, the prime minister did his best to play down the idea as “Canberra speculation”.
“The bubble likes to speculate about these things," he said.
