Boom!
What’s going on everyone?
I bet you’re wondering why money is raining down on me and my truck. Don’t worry its fake money, but I wished it was real as I could use some right now.
Anyway, today I have Big Rigs Series 6 to talk about. It is another Peterbilt. Seems like First Gear is stuck on Peterbilts with hoods for the Big Rig Series as so far, every release has been a 359 or 379.
I’ve done videos on every release of the Big Rigs Series so far and you really need to see them with the link to the playlist below.
I’m Logan the 64th Gear Jammer Skeele and I talk about diecast replicas. Please go on and subscribe to my channel for more great diecast reviews and info on the real machines.
If you’ll notice the color of the model truck is Seafoam Green which very much resembles the color of money.
Why is this important?
Well for one reason the review is over the truck nicknamed “The Color of Money.”
This color really sets it apart from the other Peterbilt’s out there as they only ever factory produced two with this paint color. It is also the very last truck to have metallic painted on the frame from the factory. Making this a very rare truck indeed.
What truck is it?
Well, it’s a 2007 Peterbilt 379 Legacy Edition. And it’s one of the last of the 1000 Legacy Editions built being number 995. The Legacy Editions were special edition trucks with unique interiors and other features. Kenworth and other truck makers have also made special edition trucks over the years.
The Color of Money is powered by a 625 horsepower C15 Caterpillar diesel with an 18-speed transmission.
Under the ownership of Kary Bryce’s Bryce Transport of Minden Louisiana, The Color of Money was restored in 2017, but since it was such a rare truck that everyone knew and loved, they didn’t want to change anything. They left the seafoam green paint and updated a few parts like the visors, deck plate, and rear fenders. Also, some interior panels were updated to complete the look. The restore took about 8 months to complete. The real Color of Money truck has painted floors and dash to match the outside along with some other nice accent touches inside. Behind it is a 48’ Wabash reefer van that has matching trim color and fenders.
Before the restore it was used for hauling sand in the oil fields the driver Marty Colvin said. He also said that it will be put back to work earning her keep. However, with all the work done in the restore, it’s unlikely that she will end up back in the oil fields.
