And secondly, a full cessation of settlement activities. These tenders of settlements, these incursions, these assassinations can not stand, because the continuation of the policy of settlements and incursions and the killing fields is really undermining every effort to deliver peace, and is undermining our credibility as a Palestinian authority in front of our people."

STORYLINE
Israel's Defence Minister, Ehud Barak, said on Thursday that his country would keep pursuing Palestinians involved in attacks against Israelis.
Speaking at a memorial service for Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem, Ehud Barak, said that "yesterday in Bethelehem we demonstrated once again that the state of Israel will continue to pursue and strike all murderers with Jewish blood on their hands."
Barak was referring to the death of Mohammed Shehadeh, one of the West Bank leaders of the militant Islamic Jihad group, who was killed by Israeli undercover forces in Bethlehem.
Barak's comments came just as the Islamic Jihad group in Gaza fired more than a dozen rockets at southern Israel early on Thursday.
The rocket barrage from Gaza was practically a given after Israeli forces opened fire on the car carrying Shehadeh.
The Israeli military claimed the Islamic Jihad commander planned suicide bombings that killed dozens of Israelis.
A dozen rockets and three mortars were fired at Israel late on Wednesday and early on Thursday, Israeli security officials said.
