Alocasia Frydek is such a gorgeous plant. The contrast between the leaf color and the veins is just incredible 🙂⠀

My Frydek grows all year round. It lives under a grow light, and with sufficient light and warmth it continues to put out leaves throughout the year. Older leaves die, nothing to worry about.⠀

The number of leaves it will have at any moment generally depends on the amount of light it's getting. It can be anywhere between 1 to 6 leaves leaves.⠀

It was time to repot mine. Proper repotting and proper root management is crucial for a healthy plant. A healthy plant starts with healthy roots. This is where water and nutrients come from and if a plant doesn't have healthy roots it doesn't have a good basis for development. One of the main reasons bonsai plants live hundreds of years is good soil and root management.⠀
