This Namibia Untamed Ep1 is about our journey into Namibia as they open their borders to South Africans after an economically devastating lockdown. We explore the north western regions and exploring the seven rivers - the Kunene, Hoarusib, Khumib, Hoanib, Huab, AbHuab and he Ugab rivers. We are searching for wildlife and the Himba People.
We start the trip soft glamping in the eastern Kalahari and end up in the Etosha National Park. There we spend four glorious days in search of wildlife encounters. We were handsomely rewarded. We also cook our favourite Indian Scrambled eggs in the now famed Conrad Hicks Pan, which is up for grabs at the end of the Namibia Untamed Episodes.
It was an adventure to remember, traversing the Van Zyl's Pass (the ultimate white knuckle ride) into the Marienfluss with no support or backup. We rebuild some of the neglected pass to avoid tumbling into oblivion. We got bogged down in the Hoarusib River after a flash flood, have a close encounter with a lion and distribute food parcels to some of the remotest of the Himba tribe in the Kaokoland.
