Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has expressed his disappointment at both Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and the Greens for their attempts at “politicising” the escalated conflict between Hamas and Israel.
Mr Dutton had criticised the Albanese government for not convening a national security council to monitor implications for Australia’s Jewish community.
“I just think it is very disappointing to have an issue like this and Peter Dutton is looking for a political angle,” Mr Albanese told Sky News Australia.
“What I look towards is the national interest which is always my focus.
“People trying to play politics with this issue, whether it is Peter Dutton or the Greens is just inappropriate.”
