In central China's Hubei Province, a land-based grouper farm is now using technology to create the perfect farming conditions for the popular fish. The state-of-the-art facilities mimic the optimum temperature for the fish. The tanks are divided into three types to correspond to the various growth stages. According to the director, the whole breeding cycle is about 240 days, with fish hitting the market when they weigh about a half a kilo.
